Pre-dawn departure
Hotel pick-up and departure via Yura, skirting the slopes of Chachani. We cross the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home of the vicuña, to Chivay, where breakfast is served.

Condor Cross
We continue along the canyon rim to the Condor Cross lookout, about 40 km from Chivay — one of the valley’s most breathtaking landscapes and the best spot to watch the condor in flight.

Valley villages and terraces
On the way back we visit the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, with their colonial churches, and the Antahuilque and Choquetico lookouts over the terraces and hanging tombs. Lunch break in Chivay.

Return via the Volcano Lookout
We head back through Patapampa, the highest point of the route (4,910 m a.s.l.), with views of the Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca and Misti volcanoes. Arrival in Arequipa in the afternoon.
